The new design Indiana Amateur Radio License Plate (IARLP) will be available for order at BMV branches starting February 13, 2026.

Indiana Code 9-18.5-9 establishes Amateur Radio License Plates and specifies that your FCC-issued callsign will appear on the plate.

IC 9-18.5-9-6 goes on to set the fee at $8.00 in addition to the normal registration fees. BMV says that this fee will not change with the new design.

The IARLP is available for passenger cars or light trucks. The IARLP is not available as a motorcycle plate.

ARRL has launched a nationwide grassroots campaign aimed at securing the passage of federal legislation that would grant Amateur Radio Operators the same rights to install antennas on their property as those enjoyed by users of TV antennas, wireless internet, and flagpoles.
