ARRL Field Day 2024

By AK9R, 17 June, 2024

ARRL Field Day is coming up on June 22-23, 2024 (Field Day is always the 4th full weekend of June). Field Day is a great opportunity for you and your club to connect with the local amateur radio community, to experiment with different antennas or different modes, and to have some fun making contacts. Field Day is also a great opportunity for you and your club to show served agencies, local governmental officials, and the general public what amateur radio is all about. Don't miss this chance to show off amateur radio!

More information about ARRL Field Day can be found here: You can download the full ARRL Field Day packet with rules and useful information here:

Make sure to list your Field Day operation in the Field Day locator:

Your Field Day operation can gain bonus points by sending a message to your Section Manager. Here is section 7.3.5 in the Field Day rules:

"7.3.5. Message Origination to Section Manager: 100 bonus points for origination of a formal message to the ARRL Section Manager or Section Emergency Coordinator by your group from its site. You should include the club name, number of participants, Field Day location, and number of ARES operators involved with your station. The message must be transmitted during the Field Day period and a copy of it must be included in your submission in either standard NTS or ICS-213 format (or have the equivalent content) or no credit will be given. The message must leave or enter the Field Day operation via amateur radio RF."

You can send your message to AK9R using the National Traffic System. The CW and phone traffic nets in Indiana will be standing by to accept your message. ( Or, you can send it to AK9R using Winlink.
